timeng cover ?'s
I getting ready to put my timing cover on & I need the torque specs for the bolts. Also should I use silicone on the gasket? I have Permatex blue RTV. Someone mentioned using rubber cement, but don’t know about that, seems like it would be a bear to get off later.
I’m hoping that the one-piece oil pan gasket will have torque specs with the instructions, but if you have the info to, that would help. s/t

pick yourself up a Haynes manual, Its $14 well spent.
Has all the info, capacities, and torque specs you will need. I have one for every vehicle i've ever owned.

I know an old mechanic that used weatherstrip adhesive(3M)on covers like that.It acts like rubber cement,very tacky.It helps prevent gasket shifting.

Permatex Aviation gasket sealer (red in color) has always worked for me, easy to use and works on all gaskets and metals. Get the small can, so it doesn't dry out on you. RTV is a good thing for the intake manifold valley mating surfaces, but I never liked it as a gasket sealer.
