Installing Grant steering wheel
I have a new Grant steering wheel to install on my tilt column. Is this a pretty straight forward install? Anything to look out for? What about the horn?
Thanks

Re: Installing Grant steering wheel
It can be a little confusing at first. You will need an installation kit if you didnt get one with the wheel.
I had to modifty the stock part in my column that is the white round piece where the horn button sticks though, the piece with the brass ring on the backside. The protruding cylinder part where the horn contact slides in with the spring needed to be sanded down to get it to fit in. Other than that, it wasnt too bad.

Re: Installing Grant steering wheel
I did get the kit. Did you take apart the piece with the brass plunger? Also did you use any parts from your stock wheel setup?

Re: Installing Grant steering wheel
I think the only stock part I used was that white insulator piece that I had to file down b/c it wouldnt fit through the black adaptor piece(with 4 holes). It wouldnt fit through. I dont think I had to take that apart, just used a file to reduce the outer diameter. Its been a while so I might be missing something.

Re: Installing Grant steering wheel
I lost the pics that I took. Think I deleted them by accident along with the ones with the pics I took of the front bumper install.

Re: Installing Grant steering wheel
I've done this many times, and it's a simple install, shouldn't take more than 10-15 minutes to complete.
Just follow the directions included with the adapter, and you shouldn't have any problems.

Good time to change turn signal canceler and handle if needed!
