Door poppers
Any one have shaved doors on their truck? Never installed them before. I no nothing about them I was looking at 45lb Autoloc that are on e-bay. If anyone have pics of the location on how to do this? Figured I would want the ones with remote & emergency button too?? $150 too high for such a setup? Thanks for the input.

Re: Door poppers
Thanks for the reply. Where on the door jam do you want or think they should be installed? Someone out there have these installed already please give some info. My doors were replaced, shaved & already painted hate to redrill for standard handles but I want a good working system with the poppers if I can.

Re: Door poppers
My doors are 45lb and pop out enough to get your fingers in the jamb without door popers.

Re: Door poppers
I did put a popper in the lower rear corner, but realized I didn't need them.

Re: Door poppers
I have 45# ones but haven't installed yet either. $99 is a good price if you can get them for that.

Re: Door poppers
I shaved the doors on my 69 stepside and my 71 fleetside.I used gm power door lock solenoids, and made my own linkage. You dont really need poppers if the doors are adjusted to close tight on the weatherstripping both of my trucks have enough pressure on them that they will pop enough to get ahold of the back of the door.I also shaved a couple of S-10's and didnt use poppers on them either.I make an occasional trip to the junkyard and pick up 6 or 8 of those solenoids for $15 or $20.depending on the owners mood.
