ez wiring harness
Has any one had any problems installing this in a 1965 Chev truck? I am changing the truck from a 1965 v8 automatic with dash lights to a big block hei with factory dash guages.

Re: ez wiring harness
I don't know about the EZ harness, but I installed a "It's a Snap" harness I got off Ebay. No problems with mine, just take your time, and mock things up before finalizing wire locations. I was in a hurry with mine and now I have a rats nest as a result.... It works great and has plenty of extra circuits for all the modern conveniences and I was happy to get that 40 year old wiring out from under the dash. Eventually I'll get back under there and reroute things cleanly to make it look a little better.... (yea , right....)

Re: ez wiring harness
I'm installing the American Autowire kit which is made by EZ Wire. It's suppose to be the easier version of there line of kits. It hasn't been as easy installing it as they claim. I had to enlist the help of a friend who use to be a electronics tech. in the Air Force. He's even been stumped a few times during this process. He told me to go with the Painless system next time, he had a better experience using there kit. Fortunately mine is almost done!
I hope this helps. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions. Ray |

Re: ez wiring harness
hey rainmans63, if your buddy wouldn't keep stopping to play a round of golf you would be done by now! haha
Go Army! I recevied a catalog from Ron Francis and his kit looked pretty nice and wasn't as expensive as I thought.

Re: ez wiring harness
I just installed the EZ-wiring (EZ-21) into my 65 gmc 1000 pickup and it worked out great. The wire is labeled every couple of inches and the length of each wire is longer than needed. The instructions that came with the kit are worthless, so I recommend you download and print the painless instruction manual. I also used the complete "New System" from Mad Electrical which upgrades the starting circuit, charging system and put in relays for the dual head lights.

Re: ez wiring harness
Well I went with m&h electrical fabricators wiring harness. They make factory harnesses and even add the hei wire and convert the alt from external to internal. I was changing from a dash cluster with lights to one with guages. I am also installing the 454 and turbo 400 at the same time.
It has been a simple plug and play as they use all factory plugs.
