I just spent more on trim than I paid for the truck!
And I didnt buy the side chrome. All the grill area trim, tailgate trim , all new light lenses, badges and insignia and a new chrome rear bumper came out to a bit over $900 which is just about twice what I paid for the truck...
A fool and his bonus check are soon parted!

Yikes! I know that repop stainless stuff is big $$$. Was looking at new headlight bezels and grill trim for my '68 Chevy and it came to $350 US. That's like $600 Canadian by the time I pay shipping, duty and taxes. Think I'll find some used '67 steel trim and have it chromed.

It only hurts for a little while Mike!
Once you see all that new trim in place, you won't be able to stop staring at it. And you'll be placing another order before you know it. :p These trucks are a great investment so think if it that way. When your done, you could make money on it. (I don't recommend selling though-these trucks will one day be as hard to find as a 57 Belair! And probably just as costly)

Well lets see. Iv'e had it 5 months. Already Ive got a new engine in it along with all new accesories etc. new wheels, tires and brakes. I spend about 3 hours a day on it most days. The bodywork is just about done and it should be painted by the end of september. New chrome and interior. It drives like a new truck. What more could I want? A new truck costs 35,000. If I have $5000 in this by the time I'm done I'll be surprised.

I knew there was a reason I didn't put trim on my truck! It will look sweet though.

Several others had to stopped to admire the fully restored 1968 C20. They were transfixed by the beauty of the setting Northwest sun reflecting orange and red off the jet-black paint. It was like a magnet...drawing them ever closer...young and old alike. "Money was no object" he said after a long pause..."I had a vision." They all nodded in silent approval. Off in the distance you could hear the distinctive rumble a big block through Flowmaster 40's...at that moment, everything seemed right in the world.

I feel any money used on my truck is justified by the fact that when you cruise down the street in a cool truck everyone is looking at it, because its different than every other cookie cutter new car/truck on the road and it is something that you have put together from your heart and soul...ive never had so many people comment on anything else ive owned more than my truck...its soo worth any money you spend, even if it is a student loan and you cant eat for months like me
