So there's some dude selling a 2wd '70 Blazer
on an online action (note, I'm not saying where it's at, the www - I don't want to tick off the powers that be).
That Blazer is currently going for $30,100. It's been completely gone through and has clean paint, air bags, etc., I'm just wondering why they kept the stock '70 grill, bumpers, emblems, etc.? I guess it worked out ok though, given the price it's going for. It makes me wonder what other 2wd's are worth now? Last edited by 72 2wd Blazer; 02-18-2007 at 10:22 PM. |

Re: So there's some dude selling a 2wd '70 Blazer
This is about the 3 or 4th time its been listed. Last time it made it to $34,950 and the reserve wasn't met. It is a beautiful rig and I'd love to own it, but there is no way I can afford it. I'd guess his reserve is $35K. Last time it was listed, there were a few things pointed out missing that I would expect to be in tact and working perfectly for the price. Mostly what I remember is it has no wipers.
As for your question, a nice 2wd seems to be going in the $18K-25K range. With super nice restomods (like this one) the sky's the limit. These prices aren't unheard of on nice 4wds either. There are two on ebay right now, one with a buy it now of $29K and one with a buy it now of $42K (which is also list on collectorcartraderonline.com for $45K.)

Interesting, thanks for the info. That's the cool thing about these classics (versus newer vehicles), the classics will go up in value.
I hope for over $30k they're throwing in a roof too. Last edited by 72 2wd Blazer; 02-18-2007 at 11:15 PM. |

Don't think so. But would you drive a $35,000 Blazer in anything but perfect weather?

Why not drive it? Poeple spend alot more than that on new trucks and beat the sh1t out of them.

You can easily replace a new rig if it gets wrecked.

GET IT PAINTED! It'll be nicer than the blue one at $29K.

Re: So there's some dude selling a 2wd '70 Blazer
Makes me feel good about what I have invested in mine. I thought about selling mine but I would have to get around $23000 out of it when I get it back together. I think I am going to hold on to mine for the long haul though.

Interesting that it made it to $34,900 and the reserve wasn't met. That's the same price it ended at last time, and the reserve wasn't met. It makes me think he has a buddy bidding up to the reserve to try and get the price up.

Have you guys seen this Blazer before, I personally like the style better than the one that the guy is trying to get $35k for.

Goodguys + Blazer with no top = Lots of rain for me. I will never venture off more than 30 miles from the house with no top ever again. That yellow one is on of my favorites but no top limits the amount of driving you could do.

That yellow one has been featured in Classic Trucks magazine. I'm sure they want more than $35K, if it was forsale.

I'll throw mine in too, but we have to store it in my garage. You can come in visit it every other weekend. Ya know, joint custody.
Wasn't it board member BlazAir who said he thinks he sold that guy the Blazer in the first place? And now it is called, BlazeAir.

Re: So there's some dude selling a 2wd '70 Blazer
I've been keeping my eye out for a 2WD for some time now. It makes it tough being in the Northeast, and I'm also waiting to find one where the owner doesn't know what they have; something I can pick up for $500. I think I'll be waiting a while!!

Re: So there's some dude selling a 2wd '70 Blazer
Good luck with that. There were so few made, and even fewer still on the road, that you should be willing to travel if you are serious about getting an original 2wd. I'd guess that most of the "I don't know what I have" deals have been snatched up. Heck, there is probably 2 dozen guys on this site along constantly scouring the country looking for 2wds. I know one guy who has buddys flying overhead looking for blazers-in-fields hoping to find the same thing.

Re: So there's some dude selling a 2wd '70 Blazer
Those are both super nice show trucks---having had some really top quality stuff---and having to deal with limiting their use, their storage, their maintenance---my preference is to have a really nice driver that I can enjoy, drive, and not worry too much about an occasional chip, scratch, etc. Once you've had one, you may also think this way?!~~ Huck

Re: So there's some dude selling a 2wd '70 Blazer
I can't understand the idea of having a vehicle that you are scared to drive.
I wish I could get more use out of my 'burb, you guys that get no/very little snow are very lucky. I know of a '71 Jimmy 2wd that I wish I had the $$$ to buy...the owner has lost interest in finishing the Jimmy becase of how long it has taken. He has had the body completely redone(all new sheetmetal), bagged but needs to be plumbed, and needs some interior and glass. I have contemplated selling the 'burb to buy it, but the 'burb is more family friendly and I'd have a hard time parting with it. I guess I'll just keep praying for a lottery win, so I can have the best of both worlds. |

I was not even looking for a Blazer when a guy on this board posted a 2wd that he saw in his town for sale and was not interested in buying. I contacted the guy did a night run up the coast about 4 hours away and back home for a 6am job site start that morning! Gave $2k for it and it ran. It is now just sitting in the side yard waiting for its turn under the knife. I figure I will spend about $20-30k in parts and about 1-2k hours before it is ready for the shows. Here is a before pic!
