Need advise on wheel offset

I would like to here from anyone with 18" wheel/tire combo's. What offset, tire sizes and amount of drop. I am running 6" rear & 4.5" frt drop and am looking at buying a set of used wheels but I need more info.

Thanks,
Chapster

Re: Need advise on wheel offset

Stepside or fleet? It makes a difference on the rear back-spacing.

Up front . . .... 4" to 5.25"BS will work. More back-spacing brings everything closer to the inner wheel lip & less puts the outer edge of the tire closer to the fender-well lip. Different people have different ideas on what's 'optimum'.

My friends & I prefer more back-spacing so we can get them down lower w/o rubbing the outer fender-well lip.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
