Hello world
Hello everyone.
This is a preemptive post in many ways. I am looking into getting getting a truck again (I used to have an 84 until the floor was patched for the 4th time and gas went to $3.50/gal in NY where I used to live). I have been in F**D hell driving a 1998 ZX2 that has three gears, but was designed with 5 and reverse. I am looking into a resto/custom type truck from 67-72 (sorry, I know I picked an oddball, right?). This is what I am thinking: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=160085417869 Now if the members of this board are as kind as they seem, they won't toy with the auction seeing as I am winning now (although the reserve is $1800, just don't want to commit yet). Sounds like getting and driving would be first, cleaning and interior customizing would be second, paint would be third, and engine/transmission would be fourth... over a large period of time. Today alone lurking around on this forum I learned: how to drive a column shift how to make patterns and vinyl up a custom door panel different ways of lowering the truck how NOT to open a safe and last but not least - how nice it is to have ideas bouncing around. I love the photoshop stuff I have seen here. I may be hitting someone up for that soon. I cannot decide between a classy dark blue or a rat rod flat black, red wheels, whitewalls. Like I said though - it's all preemptive, I don't even own a truck! Anyway, thanks for providing such a cool forum! -Brian |

Re: Hello world
Yeah that V6 is really interesting. It's still funny to me when I hear things like my old boss referring to the Acura 3.5L V6 as a "really big 6". I didn't know they made them this big until recently, and some of the more rare GMCs have even bigger!
I am a hot rodder at heart, and it will take all that I have to leave that there, but it has a lot going for it, and is very unique (but maybe not in a good way - Pintos are unique). At the very least I'll probably end up shoving a modern-ish overdrive tranny in it, but probably have to move the shifter to the floor He didn't run lead additive in it, that has me worried a bit, but the other two owners were "seasoned" and I am sure they didn't hurt it. Thanks for the welcomes! -Brian
