HEY GUYS AND GIRLS,
WE JUST BOUGHT A HOUSE AND WILL BE MOVING IN IN A MONTH OR SO AND I WANT TO TREAT THE FLOOR WITH SOMETHING.I REALLY LIKE THE BLACK AND WHITE CHECKERED PATTERN BUT I AM ALSO LEANING TOWARD AN EPXOY BASED PAINT.ANY IDEAS?IF ANYONE HAS SOME COOL FLOOR COVERING SEND SOME PICTURES,PRICE,NAME,NUMBERS,ECT.THANKS JEREMY

hey Jeremy...I spoke with these folks last month at the Street Rod show in Louisville...seemed like a really nice system for a do-it-yourself type kit.

I went to Sherwin Williams, they have a 2 part epoxy system that is awesome. It was about 200 for 2 gallons, when you mix it it comes out to 4 gallons. The only thing was I went to Flagstaff Az to get it, the one they sold in Phoenix was'nt as good because of EPA concerns.

A word of caution. If you are actally going to use you garage as a garage, floor coatings can get you into trouble. If you put one on be sure to get some very good non-skid shoes, because if you get just a little oil on the floor you will bust your a$$. [Don't ask me how I know that]

My advice to you is to go to your local paint store and buy the "stain" just for concrete floors ! Any color you want and it soaks down into the pours and last along time. If it begins to look bad,just restain it ! Its simple and its cheap. I've had alot of exprience with all of it since i am a three differant garages owner!

Don't use the latex kind of floor paint...it lifts with hot tires and/or wet tires. I got patches missing all over my garage floor. Good things are it cleans up easy and is cheap.

Home Depot carries a ONE part epoxy floor paint that I put on my floor. It is pretty chemical resistant, and easy to touch up when you drop something on it. It will come up with wet tires, occassionally, but I believe that is due to the lack of good preparation. It is not too slick, either.
