swapping body parts between frames

Got a question about swapping parts. I have an opportunity to buy a 1985 3/4 ton GMC 4X4. I currently have an 85 GMC 1/2 ton 2WD. Is it possible to swap the front fenders and cab without mods? DO transmission type matter. The 3/4 ton is auto, the 1/2 ton is manual. I will retain the auto trans and just not use the pedal for the clutch. Is it difficult to work in the transfer case shifter. I assume I could do what I have done in the past and just cut out the hump and weld it into mine?

thnaks.

Re: swapping body parts between frames

they will interchange but the 4X4 cab may have a piece of the tunnel that unbolts you will have to modify the tunnel on the 2X4 to work on the 4X4
the noses will definately interchange without any problem

old Rusty C10 ir right, the 2wd have what is called a small hump trans tunnel, and the 4x4 has a large hump tunnel. Otherwise they are the same.
