Question alternator and charging ?????????

WELL I FINALLY FIGURED OUT WHAT I WAS DOIN WRONG ON MY ALTERNATOR CONVERSION TO ALT. WITH BUILT IN REG. I PUT THE JUMPER WIRES ON THE PLUG THAT WENT TO THE OLD REGULATOR. EXCEPT I DIDNT PUT THE JUMPERS ON THE BROWN WIRE TO THE WHITE WIRE . I ONLY HAD THE WIRE FROM THE RED TO THE BLUE. A FRIEND TOLD ME I DIDNT NEED THE 2ND JUMPER ONLY THE RED AND BLUE. HE SAID THE OTHER WIRES WERE FOR THE DASH LIGHTS ONLY . AND THAT THE RED TO BLUE GIVES YOU THE 12 VOLTS FROM THE IGNITION. WHAT IS IT THAT ACTIVATES ON THE OTHER JUMPER TO MAKE THE ALTERNATOR START CHARGING?

LOL! Your good now...that's all that matters. Are your lights noticably brighter? I couldn't believe how much better all my electronics are now. Then again, my old ext set up was on its last leg too.
