VIN Plate Rivets? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Are those rivets still available that hold the VIN plate to the drivers door pillar? From what I remember they were 'star' shaped just like the originals.
Didn't one of our members have them on hand?

I went to that site, those are not the rivets I'm talking about. The rivets I need are for the door pillar and look like a six sided star when installed. I believe the 'trimtag' rivets are for under the hood.

Does anybody know where to get what I'm looking for?

me and board member bisquick65 used to sale them but i ran out. and the last time i talked to bisquick he was out to. we had the gm orig. ones.

Found this on another board, haven't tried calling the number yet. What you are looking for are called rosette rivets.

REPRODUCTION VIN rosette 6-sided rivets, holds serial # plate to dash or door pillar, correct looking reproduction, no tags, rivets only, correct for 60s-70s only, $45 pr, discounts to 10 pair or more purchases. 603-209-1678, NH. $45

TrimTags.com used to have the rosettes too. I am not sure if they still do but it would be worth calling them and asking.

I got them from this person off e-bay......I think. bricklinboyz@rogers.com send them an e-mail and ask for the SS-VR rivets, they can send a picture to show you they are the correct ones. I got 4 shipped for $38 total. Also, the trim tag folks have them, but they don't have a picture to send you and they don't really advertise them, they are $12 each plus shipping. Hope this helps.
