where to buy fuse box?
Hi everbody:
It has been a while since I touched my truck due to some family difficulties and also being busy at work but finally Now,I am getting around the things. anyways, My next plan for my truck is new wiring. I am investigating to see if it is something that I can do it from scratch (just for fun of it and also maybe saving some money). My question for now is; where can I buy newer type fuse box and also where can I get new wiring connectors to connect the wires to different parts (instrument panel, light and etc0 Thanks in advance.

Re: where to buy fuse box?
You could try Ron Francis or a component vendor like Waytek for bits and pieces. All it takes is time and moo-lah.

Re: where to buy fuse box?
To convert over to the blade style fuses, you'll find the best way to go is with an after market kit from Painless, Ron Francis, EZ-Wire to name a few. There are a few of the actual connectors you'll need from the old truck as not everything is being reproduced. The only one I can remember for sure you have to reuse is the half moon thing for the column. I think there may be some others from what I have read. I have not started mines rewiring yet, so I do not have all the specifics handy.

Re: where to buy fuse box?
Is it possible to use newer type connectors for most parts such as instrument panels?

Re: where to buy fuse box?
Things like the dash plug, column plug are factory pieces are unique to the vehicles or at least a range of years. Best bet is talk to the folks where you go to get the harness and see what they have. However many wiring places are sort of setup for custom/hotrod/street rod wiring where you use spade type connectors on everything. Another reference is the LMC parts catalog. Very good to see what their is, I just don't like buying from them, but their catalogs are a very good picture reference.

Re: where to buy fuse box?
I have used painless kits (vehicle specific) in a couple vehicles, and was very happy. Updating the wiring is the best thing you could do, especially if you plan on adding accessories such as power locks and windows.
