What Can I Do

I found a 1969 Chevy SWB 6 cyl 3 Speed all original. Its plain and simple no molding or chrome bumpers. Had a camper top on since new kept in the garage. The owner passed away 2 years ago, I talked to the son and daughter and they dont have a title, I thought about buying it and fing another truck for the title and vin plate. What do you recommend?

Re: What Can I Do

most states have ways to get your title, its all paper work. Here in OK its a title 42, in 90days you get one issued.
I'd like an old 6banger truck like that. becareful on switching out vins. you could get in deep doo doo over that.

The lawyer who settles the estate is required (by ohio law anyways) to come up with all the documents needed to settel the estaate.
Or, if they have documentation stating that the truck was willed to them, they should be able to go to the DMV (again, ohio law, but most are very close to the same on this) and file for a lost title. Doesn't cost much, and only takes a short time to recieve the title copy.
