Progress!
Just finally decided that I can't afford the Porterbuilt crossmember, so I built my own version of what he is doing. I'll post more pictures later as it progresses, but it wans't very hard. Alot of time doing layout, trial and error, and fitment, but it will be worth it in the end!
Oh yeah, it is laying rocker! Last edited by PrerunnerRob; 02-24-2007 at 11:47 PM. |

Re: Progress!
Here are some crappy camera phone pictures, ut you get the basic idea. It is nowhere near finished, lots of bracing, gussetting, and welding to do. Just mocked up to make sure everything clears.
Also just picked up a new bench seat today, and decided to make a new cover for it after pricing out how much they are, and how I didnt like the materials they use for covers. Just a test fit to make sure all of my measurements were close. More flake then a bass boat! |

Looks great so far. Are you planning on keeping the stock A -arms once you have the X memeber complete? -Andy |

Re: Progress!
Yep, this is being done on a very cheap buget, I can't afford nice stuff like tubular a-arms. I had to clearance a few items for the A-arms to clear, but nothing structural has been compromised.

Re: Progress!
Looking good. Have you test-fit the motor? Any clearance issues with that and the oil pan?

Re: Progress!
I'll bet PrerunnerRob wouldn't mind if you gave that a try... preferrably with a card that has a really high credit line.
