Where the 700r4 and the e-brake dont get along.
I have the 700 in and the crossmember moved. Now I need some ideas because if I put the crossover cable for the e-brake in front of or behind the trans mount it still pushes on the cable. I'll get some pics of it soon.

Anyone with a 700r4 got any ideas or have solved this already? If so I would like to see it.

You may have to use an aftermarket crossmember. We used one, which is a lot smaller, consisting of a single tube with a mounting platform in the center, and two, vertical mounting plates on the sides. Doesn't touch the E-brake setup at all.

just fabricate up some stand offs for the brake cable to go thru for proper clearance and mount on frame or crossmember as needed

Cdowns: thats what i did when i installed my 700.. they work fine i just welded a couple little brackets with holes with a plastic bushing inside, its worked fine ever since. i had it rubbing for a while before i did that and it didnt seem to hurt anything anyhow.

Re: Where the 700r4 and the e-brake dont get along.
the crossmember isnt in the way. I had a powerglide trans in there and the crossover to the passenger side was under the drive shaft. Now with the 700r4 it is basicly in the middle of the trans mount but I have it pulled back. the holders in the frame i'm thinking about shortening them and hopfully it would pull it far enough back. It has been to dark to get a pic of what I have now but I'll get one befor I try it.
