Stance Picture with questions
Hey all, I found this picture, and it is exactly the wheel size/look I am going for. All I know for sure is that these wheels are American Racing Torque Thrust II's and they are 18" front and back. With Kumho Ecsta stx tires.
Could anyone guess the rim widths and tires sizes from these pictures? Mabye 255/55R18? I also want to get the rear wheels aligned with the fronts, so I need back spacing info. I was thinking 18x8 or 18x8.5 fronts and 18x10 rears? The amount of side wall you see in these pics is what I want. Need tire sizes? Any suggestions or advice from experience? I have a ECE 4/6 drop kit. Thanks for any help.

I have no clue about the sizes but that truck was at the last swap meet at Lagrave field here in Ft Worth.

Re: Stance Picture with questions
As special-K said, your best bet would be to try and contact the owner but I'd say you're probably correct - 255/55R18.
That line of tire only comes in 3 sizes for an 18" wheel: 265/60R18, 255/55R18 and 285/60R18. They don't look like a 60 series and they are almost definitely not a 285 width. I'm sure you went through the same process of elimination to come up with the 255/55R18 size.

Re: Stance Picture with questions
If I run a 255/55R 18x8 or 8.5 front
What would be the correct tire size for the rear using a 18x9.5 or 10 rim in order to match the diameters as much as possible? Based the the first pics of the black truck, how wide would you say the rims are?

Quote:
255/55-R18 measures about 29" tall. A matching tire for a 10" rim out back might be 285/50-R18 (29.2" tall)... The problem is that you have to find a manufacturer that makes the front and rear tire sizes you're looking for. What I have done is find a few tires I like then check out the size charts to find a combination that works. It can be a very frustrating experience. Check out the link below for figuring out tire dimensions: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Re: Stance Picture with questions
I want to change my answer. After comparing these two, I think the first truck up above is on 18's. Sorry.

Re: Stance Picture with questions
I looked at this truck at a classic car shop on Mockingbird lane in Dallas. I forget the name of the place but it is on the south side of Mockingbird just west of Harry Hines. It is a clean truck! The owner of the shop is a British guy who is not very friendly. He had just bought it and was get ready to put it on his lot. I don't know if it is still there or not.

Re: Stance Picture with questions
In my opinion if that truck has had a frame off and the power train is up to snuff then it'd be worth around 12k because you couldn't come close to building it for that, but I suppose the reserve on eBay was probably much more than that. Just think, pay the money( if you have it ) the turn the key and away you go. Then as you own, drive and enjoy the truck I'm sure you'd want to spend more money changing a few things to the way you like them!!

Re: Stance Picture with questions
I agree on the emblems, very sharp truck though. Maybe I am crazy but I would rather spend the money to get that one than buy a new one, if I was looking to spend that much on a truck.

Re: Stance Picture with questions
I forgot all about Copperhead.
And yes, the black truck is definately sitting on 18's But that helps me with one question, proper backspacing. I want my front and rear wheels to be aligned. As most if not all of you already know, if you use the same backspacing front to rear, then the rear wheels sit inward and the fronts sit out. So going by Copperhead, if I run 18x8 fronts then I need 4.5" backspacing. If I run 18x9.5 rears then I need 5.0 backspacing. I was thinking of running 18x10 in the rear. Would the extra width cange the needed backspacing to keep aligned with the fronts? Any reccomendations on this, or experience? Pros and cons for the wider wheel. I guess .5" wouldn't be that big a difference.
