one piece windows & suicide doors?

Im going to put one piece windows on my truck and I also would like to do the suicide door kit from *****************. I was wondering before I spent the money on the suicide kit if there would be any clearence issues since the one piece windows get rid of the wing vent and you have to put the latches somewhere on the front of the door (i think) Insight would be appreciated.

Thanks and sorry for the long post.

if there is any clearance issues, just mount the striker on the door and the latch on the cab. or you could go extremely different and use the latch/striker out of the 3rd door on OBS extended cabs, they mount on the bottom of the door

I believe that Capt Kaos on the board has a one piece kit available in a group buy also and the price is better than the one mentioned above.... I also think he is a board sponsor.

regards

I'll give one piece a call and see what they say and put their reply on here in case anyone else is interested.

Don't really think that would work. Unless you recessed the striker and had the latch sticking out, which would be more work than it's worth. Otherwise the striker on the door would hit the cab when closing.

Re: one piece windows & suicide doors?

it's pretty simple really. extend the part where the door meets the cab and mount the latch on that. if you're gonna go through the work of suiciding doors, you should be able to fab something up for the latch, or you shouldn't be suiciding your doors...

Re: one piece windows & suicide doors?

I talked to one piece today and they said that there is just little more than an 1/8 of an inch to work with between the new channel and door so I'm not sure if I'm gonna do it. I just don't know how adequate that room would be for bracing. I'll do some more measuring before I give up. I'd really like to do this mod so if anyone with the one piece windows could weigh in on this subject that would be great.
Where there is a will there is a way I guess.
