Re: a rendering of my truck
I like it both ways. It looks old school now, which I love, but I'm not one to complain with a truck that lays door.

Re: a rendering of my truck
That looks great but the tilted frenched license plate thing is out if you want to keep the smooth look go with one of them hidden pop up plate kits.

Re: a rendering of my truck
Gotta agree with Stepper, the only thing I didn't like was the tilted plate.
Other than that, the design looks great. Current setup is nice as well.

Re: a rendering of my truck
Your truck is so straight. Mine has the same GM colour, but it looks like arse next to that beauty in blue.

Re: a rendering of my truck
that rendering isn't on the doors!
i agree about the plate, and do you plan on using the 81+ front bumper like the rendering? Last edited by dubdeuce80; 02-28-2007 at 02:33 PM. |

Re: a rendering of my truck
I can't back the tilted, frenched license plate either. It reminds me of the import trucks from the late 80's.

Re: a rendering of my truck
it is just in the planing stage but the plate i don't know on
i kind of like the back one window but a friend has one and it is scratched all the hell i was thinking of a pop up one "maybe with air" and i don't know on tail lights the led strip are played out big time and i don't like it to plain in the rear in a big truck it is just to much that is why i put in the plate and to match my blazer and the bumper is going to be off of a newer "96 or so" 1500 that i am going to cut to fit and have re chromed it is just a dream but it will get riped apart soon

Re: a rendering of my truck
The way it sits looks nice to me. I am really not a fan of the big rims. but to each their own. like the drawing too and the Tilted late needs to go i think. the guy at the local upolstry shop has a 95 excab 1500 GMC short bed that is bagged shaved and he had his plate frenched and tilted in the t gate. that lasted a week then it was just frenched and no longer tilted. What ever you do have fun wih it and looks like alotta work. If it were me i would keep it more as it is now but with some paint work and small changes. Thats just me. Have fun with it thats what it is all about

Re: a rendering of my truck
I think it looks awesome as is and when it turn outs like that drawing. Defiantly get a build thread up when you start working on it and tons of pictures. Its going to be sick when its done.

Re: a rendering of my truck
The rendering looks awesome. I'm with everyone else on the license plate. I think I would rather have a Lambo door kit instead.
I'm not much on roll pans either. I say leave the rear bumper so you have something to bolt a drag block to.

The rendering is really cool. It's a custom, so do it up like its drawn up.

Re: a rendering of my truck
Rendering is neat. License plate is weird. I understand you like it, but it's just one of those things that clashes with the entire vehicle. The truck is essentially a box; having the angled rectangular shape on the rear clashes with the entire flow of the vehicle's lines. Plus, it just screams rice. Ever see that Honda rolling down the street with more money invested in rims and the custom license plate mount than the car is actually worth?
Other than that, the rendering is sweet. But if you want to be different today, restore it to 100% original.

Re: a rendering of my truck
rendering looks cool...your gonna have to body drop it more than 4 inches to lay. also if you cut rockers you gotta cut the fenders and bed. to run 22 on front with it layed out you have to run a bigggger bag than what you think to. if i was to do it again i do a 20/22 combo

Re: a rendering of my truck
i am redoing the frame
because if you cut just 2 1/2" off of the lower frame under the cab it will lay rockers check out this site http://www.loweredd.com/welcome.html and then i will just have to body drop about 3" i have done a body drop on a friends ride and i know it is a pain but that is what you do for something custom
