72 Extended cab project

Picked this up last sunday, made the 300 mile trip from Arkansas without missing a beat. It has a newly rebuilt 400 small block and its the first truck of this vintage I've ever owned with working AC.
I've been scounging parts together for some time now for a 1 ton project, I have a TH475-NP205 and U.S. Gear divorced aux trans ready for it and a Dana 60 dually front is coming. Also have a 4" Skyjacker lift to put in it with ORD greasable shackles and 1-1/2" upper spring eye conversion.
I'm going to ditch the mirrors that are on it for a set of factory camper mirrors I have along with some factory badges where the painted on bowties are.

Re: 72 Extended cab project

I saw that one for sale about a month back, I thought his price was real reasonable. You couldn't build one for that price. The body looks solid, Some chrome wheels would really set it off.

What did he use for the dually fenders? Looks like cut down step-side fenders.

The body is real solid and I didnt get hurt on the price I dont think. And yes the rear fenders are from a stepside.

It will be used for towing, right now I dont have anything that would be very comfortable for a long trip. The extra length in the cab really makes a big difference in comfort, I think the seat is set back about 4" from stock.

Re: 72 Extended cab project

I am going to need a second bib after all this drool. The only thing its missing is a nice 6V-71T. After the lift and changes, I am expecting the "superduty's" to shiver as you pass em. Looks like i better get this Dana dugout from under the snow......
