I found a 67 swb frame for sale nearby. are all of the these frames the same as far as mounting holes etc. My long bed truck that I am using the cab and front clip to make the shortbed is a 70. does anyone know of any problems I might run into. Thanks

The 67 frame won't have the bumped out area were the power sterring box would bolt to. ( If your using power sterring ) There are ways to get around
that issue, heat the frame and hammer out the bumped out area around the bolt holes, use spacers, or weld in a section from a 69-72 frame.

My 67 has those bumps that your refering to! for the steering gear box right. I was just in the garage looking at them. I think your situation depends on if the frame was made on the 66 year models. I think later on in the year chevy got, they started changing the frames to accept the big blocks for the 68 year models. I also would like more info for this subject!

Does anyone have any pics of the diff between the two. Also what do you guys think a nice swb rolling chassis with rally's that are in near perfect condition is worth. I'm driving over in the morning to look at it. The guy says its been stored inside, and has not been wrecked. Is 500$ fair?

It's rare to see a 67 with the bump outs in the frame for the power steering. The 67's used some funky ram assisted power steering and didn't need the bump outs.

Oldno7, your truck may be a late year 67 or you're frame may have been swapped at some point

As long as your talking 2wd vs 2wd and 4wd vs 4wd they are the same. There are some trucks (chevy's) that had leaf rear springs as an option, but I think that would be rare or non-existent on a swb 1/2 ton 2wd?

If the rims/tires are really nice and you plan on using them I'd say 500 would be fair for a real nice frame.

So whats the best way to mount the power steering box on a 67 frame? build a spacer? Weld in that part of another frame? If anyone has done this, how did you do it?
