Prime oilpump while in the truck.
Do you guys think there is enough space near the firewall to get the priming rod and the drill back there to turn the pump over?

Re: Prime oilpump while in the truck.
It would be close but i know you could if you had a right angle drill motor or one you could borrow.

Re: Prime oilpump while in the truck.
before you put in your oil pump you should've packed it with vaseoline, that way when you crank up your motor it would've been primed already.did that on my 91 chevy v-6.worked great.

Re: Prime oilpump while in the truck.
You could always resort to just using a long screwdriver.

Re: Prime oilpump while in the truck.
My 350 is in the "correct" V-8 position and I primed my pump with a drill while it was in the truck. It worked great

Re: Prime oilpump while in the truck.
70blowngmc its a wonder that 300 lb gorilla on top of your motor will let you put a distributor in there.

Re: Prime oilpump while in the truck.
I primed mine with a rental priming tool for GM from Autozone and a Black and Decker cordless drill with no problem.
