What year ball joints are the same?

Are ball joints (upper and lower) for 73-87 1/2 ton trucks the same as a 72?

and/or

are ball joints (upper and lower) the same from 63-72

I guess the real question here is what year ball joints (upper and lower) will interchange with my 72 spindles on my 69 truck?

I know that I can go to the parts store and get them, but I have some NOS parts and I would like to use what I have if it will cross reference.

THANKS!!!
Bill

Re: What year ball joints are the same?

The differences in the ball joints is in the taper for the spindle they will all mount to the A arms. In your case you would need 71 up joints to fit the taper of 72 spindles.

71-72 is about it. The 73+ are different.
