I am in the market for a 140amp alternator. I was wondering what brand of alternators are you guys choices. I need a 140 amp because I am running dual electric fans. Thanks guys.

Re: Alternator Advice Needed
As far as what brand i cant tell you that but i can tell you that a 140A is overkill i ran dual ele fans on an S10 i had a few years ago and i only had a 120A and it was plenty.
Now if your gonna have a large stereo sys then you may need the 140A. I can also tell you no matter how high of an alt. you go with you will need to up grade your alt. charge cable to at least an AWG 4 for anything over a 120A. I also put a 130A alt on my Tahoe i got it from ebay and all they do is overhaul Alternators & Starters i haven't had any problems with it yet and it's been on since May of '05. Heres the seller Alterstart Last edited by 87 STEPPER; 03-06-2007 at 09:27 AM. |

Trevino, that is who I was going to suggest also. They are over in Grand Prairie. My secretary's husband works over there.

Re: Alternator Advice Needed
When you call, ask for Bobby, and tell him I sent you. I don't know if it will help, but it's worth a shot.
