I have this cell. It was in a truck my son had bought. I want to mount this cell under the bed. Has anyone done it? Any issues? I'm going to put a fuel door in the floor to fill it. My concern is that it appears to be designed to be mounted in the bed or trunk. Not sure if I will need to put a piece of plate under it to support it or if the straps will provide enough support.

I have seen someone use the straps from summit but summit didn't recommend using it in that fashion. Maybe if you placed a piece of metal it would work, if you already have it then why not try...

My thoughts as well. I was going to make my own straps anyway since the cell was just in the back of a parts truck. Going to use approx 3" wide straps with 2 more the same size running both directions under the tank to support it.

Here's what summit has for $25. I would think that it might sag in the middle but should work great with some extra support...

I saw those too. RCI (my cell brand) has them as well for around the same price. I think if I run and extra piece or two between the straps it will hold up just fine.
