Rear end Dilemma
I have a 71 5 lug open diff rear and a 67 6lug 3.73 posi . Can I pull the posi out of the 67 and install it into the 71 housing.So as to end up with a 3.73 posi and 5lugs. what kinda setup will this entail

This should work, the spline set up should be the same. I can not think of a reason it would not work. Just make sure you know what you are doing when you set up the rearend. If you do it wrong you are looking at big problems. Might be worth the 200 bucks to let a pro do it.

I am worried about the old wear pattern on the R&P. It seams that I would have to get it back in the same spot, correct? Oh and $200 bucks......I could just get some axles from summitt
