Where to run exhaust
I will be putting all new exhaust on my truck and I was wondering how everyone has run the pipes so that they don't hang down too low. How do you get around or through the crossmember just behind the transmission (the tall flat one that the driveshaft goes through, sorry don't know the name of it). My old exhaust hung too low and was visible when looking at it from the side when standing only a couple of feet away.

Re: Where to run exhaust
Some are cutting holes in the crossmember to run the exhaust through there.
Companies like Early Classic and CPP sell direct replacement cross members to do just that as well. Here is Glock35ipsc has an example here: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=202559 |

Re: Where to run exhaust
Thanks Joe! Do you know if the added 1/4" plate was used for added strength or just for better looks? I was thinking of doing the same thing without the plate, but someone told me it would weaken the crossmember too much.
