shackle question, please help - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I started helping my brother lower his 84 long wheel base with hangers and shackles. The hangers worked great but the sheckles hit the bed brace. I have never lowered one of these trucks before. Do you need to trim out the brace or do we have something wrong?
The parts came from Autobaun if that helps

When I lowered my 83 SWB I had to cut the bed braces. I checked out others at truck shows and they all did the same.

Guessed right, just couldn't see any other way

Just make sure you cut off enough to remove the bolt later if you have too. I didn't and it was PIA later to make an adjustment. If I turn to hard I can hear the bolt scrap the bed rail too.
