linkage issues..
having problems shifting out of pakk...
my son was jerking on shifter (he's 2 ) i think something broke???? lever does'nt want to pull back ... 1969 burban w th 350 .. i was checking linkage at column end found that upper adjustment w/ 3 bolts was cracked at center hole ??? tried to tighten all up but still no shifting..

Did it shift hard before this incident? You might also want to check where the shifter itself fits into the side of the column. On my 68 there is a nipple on the end of the shifter handle; maybe it's bent/broken? I'm not exactly certain if later years are set up the same??

i took it out looks ok..
but column shifter does not move towards steering wheel freely??? seems binding up.
