The best place to find all the car shows and swap meets listed is on northwestclassicautomall.com The site is not up this morning for some reason but that lists them all. The biggest swap meet coming up will be Monroe on October 12-13. I know some will be attending that one. I am not sure about any big shows.

Might be able to make that one myself. The 13th anyway. Where was Monroe again? Jeff.

Fairly easy go to map quest.com and enter Monroe washington in the appropiate box. (smarta$$ grin. Sorry.)
Other wise go over to I-5 north bound and upto Everett and take Hiway 2 to Monroe. It will be about a 2 1/2 hour trip for you. Hope to see you there.

Thanks iron. I should be able to make it if the momma will turn loose of me for a Sunday. Might even talk her into coming along. I'll drive the red monster up. Anyone else going to drive their trucks up? Jeff.

I was going to drive mine...but oldiron talked me out of it...boo hoo! Maybe I can get the stepside on the road by then. I guess the barbeque I promised everyone on the back of the flatbed will now be in the stepside...LOL!

car shows
I'm new to washington and there seems to be an endless stream of car shows in the summer. And the cars/trucks are drivers!

I picked up a sheet of paper with all the events in the Northwest. It is quite handy. I'll take a look at it again tonight and see what else is happening this year. I think that the swap meet in Monroe is about the largest event, but there are several other "get togethers" happening at drive-ins, etc. The list seems to be fairly complete.

There is still a car show at the Fred Meyer Parking lot in Covington. It's put on by the Maple Valley Street Rats. I was there last weekend and was impressed with what was there.

There's a car show in Edmonds I'm going to put the truck in on Saturday. I believe its just in the downtown area. Here's the link for more information:
http://www.edmondswa.com/Events/Carshow/index.html I certainly plan on attending the October swap meet. I want to sell a tailgate, windshield, hood and other misc parts I have. We should plan on meeting somewhere. Hope to see Jeff, Dennis and others from the board there. |

71 fleet. Chevrolet tailgate, upper and lower trim holes. Decent shape on outside, inside is a little rough.

The best place to meet is the south end of the grandstands. It is easy to find.
A good time to meet is 11 am as it gives almost everyone a chance to look around.

I tried to talk WES into setting up a booth but he was worried about investing in inventory so late in the year. Heck...this is when the work begins for some of us...but I am certain the industry is on a different cycle.
We could all meet in the parking lot. The last few times we have done this we have only been able to get three members together at one time. It would be nice to get more. It would be better to meet later in the day since the morning is dedicated to trying to find parts. An afternoon barbeque on the back of Dennis's new flatbed (you don't have to thank me Dennis!) is my choice! He should get there early and park up by the gate or in the lot where the "show" cars/trucks park. That may be more convenient. I will bring some chairs and my barbeque. Let's discuss. Bustedup, The Covington Friday night show is there every weekend from Spring to late summer. There are usually some good cars and trucks there. I have only made one or two this year. but my son goes out there frequently.

I will bolt the Weber to the pristine wood bed in my short stepside if Dennis does not pull through for us...(no pressure here)! But I plan to make it one day anyhow and will bring the barby, a cooler and some refreshments. I have some parts to pick up for my daughter's project. It will be fun to do a picnic in the parking lot...I think it is usually at the northwest corner of the fairgrounds. See ya all there!
