Re: My K30 project.......
Need new body bolts anyway so it is getting the bodylift. It is actually cheaper to buy the bodylift than to buy the bolts for stock mounts. I've had plenty of trucks with bodylifts and never had a problem.

Re: My K30 project.......
I spent Saturday morning getting everything organized. We hadn't got the welder moved into my brothers shop yet so we had to wire that in and do some other cleaning before we could get to work. Here is what i got done.
My next step is to get the cabs internals swapped over to the one that will be replaceing it. Paint the frame then switch them. There are more pics if you go to http://www.myoldtruck.com/gallery/br...500&userid=814

Re: My K30 project.......
Here is Easter weekends progress. I removed everything from the inside of the cab. While I did that my brother built a adapter for the engine hoist to lift the cab with.(Thanks for the idea Solver) It worked great. It was all built from scrap metal in the shop. So now the frame cleaning begins and hopefully it will be painted by Friday. So Sat and Sunday we can put the new body on. When I went to unbolt the cab mounts I found that only one of them was actually holding the cab to the frame.

Re: My K30 project.......
This is all looking real familiar to my last year project. Looking good so far. It will be well worth it when you are done.

Re: My K30 project.......
Oh I'd love to put a 572 in it. How do you like the 572?

Re: My K30 project.......
572 has been good so far. I've only put about 200 miles on it so far. Still working on a few items to finish up the project.

Progress has slowed. I work construction so it may be winter before I get back to it.

Re: My K30 project.......
Gonna be sweet when it's done. I had an 84 3/4 ton with 6" lift and 35s, miss that truck.
If you need a set of 40" boggers I have a set I want to get rid of. They are on 15x12" 8 lug Barts. Grind the calipers down on the front and good to go!!!!

Re: My K30 project.......
None yet. Got laid off for the season a few weeks ago and have been getting ready for hunting season and fall cleanup, now it is hunting season so any spare time is spent in the woods. Probably nothing until after the holidays.

Re: My K30 project.......
A little update to this thread. First some of the pics are now missing. The site I had them hosted on went off the web with no warning. I have kind of changed direction with it too. I am now going to use this truck more for work than play. So it will be receiving the 3"body lift and 33s instead of the 9 inches of lift and 38s. Also I will be installing my 8ft Western Pro plow on it.
So here is a bunch of pics of the build so far.
