Progress on the scrap yard truck, and one question

I got all four ball joints, rotors, calipers, and pads on the scrap yard truck on Saturday. I still need to rob the brake lines off my 72 though to get it all working, and get the rear axle swapped.

Question, how much of the steering stop do you leave on the spindle when you put 72 spindles on a 69 truck? I ground off about a 1/2 inch, but it obviously was not enough.

Here are some pics. I have to get some more bearing caps

The last picture is why I love living in the south...rust free old trucks!!!
