Ignition switch question (No, not that one) - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

OK, so I got my ignition switch out no problem thanks to all the great advice here. Then, I took the new one and popped it into place to see how it fit. Cool, it fit great. Then it was time to put it back in and I see that, "Oops, I should have waited until I screwed it all back together before popping in that new switch." Now I can't get the new switch out. Am I screwed?

Take it out the same way you did the old one. Or am I not getting what you mean?

There are a couple of catch "barbs" that have to be released before it will unplug

Thanks, sneakysnake. The picture helps tons. jhow: I was thinking last night that I really didn't explain this well enough. Since it's not re-installed in the truck I am having difficulty getting the new switch out.

If your're talking about the cylinder in the switch, the cylinder still removes the same way.
I think sneakysnake covered it, re reading the posts.
