Re: LT-1 transmission options

700r4 would be easy to run without the tranny computer but you could put a 4l60e behind it if you have all the wiring and computers and stuff but if it was mine i would stick a strong 700r4 behind it.

Re: LT-1 transmission options

You got a damn good deal then, 95 was the first year of the GENII distributor. And it was still OBD1. You can do damn near anything to this engine and it will still be some what reliable.

Anywho, as far as the tranny goes. It depends on what your gonna do with the truck. For a daily...overdrive is always nice. If its just something that your only gonna get out on sunny days. I dont see any reason why you couldnt go with a TH350...they're plentiful and fairly cheap. But if you got the harness with the engine too(good luck if you didnt...there were 3 different versions of that engine in 95)then run the tranny it was designed to run with.

Re: LT-1 transmission options

Yeah it came with the harness so then I would just have to buy the tranny. I have a th350 in the truck right now I just didn't know how it would do with that tranny, and what starter, fly wheel, and so on I would need to go with.

Re: LT-1 transmission options

Stick with a 95 if you can. I have a 94 with 4l60e and wiring. I am thinking upgrades to LT4 and a 5-speed from Tremec (not the stock one).
