Noob over here from San Antone...

I didn't know how many of yall made it to the welcome forum, so I thought I'd introduce myself here also.

Recently acquired this 82 GMC LWB beauty from a guy in Austin. I've been lurking these boards for the past couple weeks and thought it's about time to formally introduce myself.

Hope to learn as much as I can from you guys.

Oh yeah... I'm all about WLO. Call me old skool.

Re: Noob over here from San Antone...

I saw that truck for sale a few weeks ago! Cool that someone on here bought it. Is that the one with the hood that opens to the side? (if I remember right...i've looked at so many trucks over the last few months)

Re: Noob over here from San Antone...

I'm going to go with the rat rod look for now and concentrate on the engine and interior because they need the most work.

Pyro... YES! That's the one! I'm actually gonna to change that back to stock ASAP. (I plan on pulling the engine and tranny and the hood is welded on) Did you take a look at it?

I believe Road Hugger is the store brand of Discount Tire... Regardless, I've heard nothing but good things about them.

And the passenger side is shaved with a suicide door. I mean it's cute and all, but not my cup of tea.

Never went and took a look at it because I was away at college when it came up but I remembered it because of the hood. Hoping I can find a truck this week while I'm back in Austin for spring break though.

Welcome to the board! From the home of the Round Rock...

If intersted, I have an 85 silvarado that I picked up for suspension and bed/trailer. I have a few photos but not many. If intersted In any parts let me know. No motor/trans but I do have title.

LMK or keep my name handy when you decide what you want to do.

Re: Noob over here from San Antone...

While you have the hood opening that way you ought to check into the bmw type. I've seen it in clasic trucks magazine where the hood flips to the front on hinges instead of back. I believe it would be a first.

Re: Noob over here from San Antone...

from the two pitures they seem to have donre a good job doing the side flip. Normally when thats done you always end up with a larger gap on one side to the other.
