Re: think these brackets will work for me (pics)
its from a kit that a guy put together aparently there for a 73-87 I think there gonna be sent back tho looks to me like they weld to the axle and the frame. I was planning on just bolting them to the trailing arm, is that a better way to go ?

Re: think these brackets will work for me (pics)
i think it would be better to bolt them to the trailing arms. they are designed to have the springs there. i think those are are more designed for 4-links and similar applications. just my 2 cents, thats what id do.

Re: think these brackets will work for me (pics)
Those are "under the bed" bag brackets. Wish you had posted this last week! I just bought some from KP. They most likely won't work for you unless you have a step notch and bridge. The longer ones go on the bottom and get welded to your axle, and the top ones get welded to the bridge bar and you mount your bags to them. If you're just going to mount your bags in the stock spring location then those plates are pretty much useless for you.

not to sound like a jerk, but from this thread and the other one about your compressor, sounds like you had no idea about what you paid for...

Re: think these brackets will work for me (pics)
if you knew the story i did do my homework, I was told the kit being ordered was for my truck with coil springs, and that it would be a Viair compressor and tank which the tank is, the brackets already have gone back and i got my money back for them so thats solved now the issue of the compressor is still on going. I dont think its necassarily the guy im dealing with so much as the company he bought everything from, at first all they sent was a manual setup when he had specified vavle setup so he gave me the valve setup for the manual setup, the guy is trying to make the deal right to me. so maybe do your own home work first and ask me about the story before you assume I dont know what im talking about

Re: think these brackets will work for me (pics)
I think what jlaird meant was that there's a ton of us on here that have experience with different vendors. Ask around for who's had good or bad service with certain companies so you can make an accurate and sound decision about who you want to give your money to. We all just want to help, because what comes around eventually goes around. No harm, no foul. Now you know for next time. At least the guy you're dealing with directly seems to want to make good on what he sold you.

Re: think these brackets will work for me (pics)
ya hes being really good about it actually he showed me his credit card bill of the stuff he bought for me it was $1485 and he charged me $1500, then the whole issue of no valves came into play so he bit the bill for that to me thats customer service shiity products or not. I hear ya on the asking around part but up here in canada were kinda limited, people mostly customizing snowblowers and ski-doos.

Re: think these brackets will work for me (pics)
Like I said before, I'm not trying to stir anything up. But simply put, I wouldn't buy anything unless I saw a picture of what I was buying. I could be wrong, but it doesn't sound like you looked at a picture of what you where buying or you would of realized you were buying weld on axle brackest and a no-name compressor. I hope you are able to resolve everything...

Can't stay in business long that way... at least he has some "customer service"...? Hopefully he can get you all set up right. Make sure you get your Viair... that little red beauty won't compare.

Re: think these brackets will work for me (pics)
Im sure they will but what seems to have happened with this whole ordeal is either the guy selling me the stuff got lied to on what was in a kit or I did. I just figured id try some one local before having to deal with the hassle of the border let alone wait probly 4 weeks to see anything

Re: think these brackets will work for me (pics)
PissonNos, Im sorry to say, but I have had a very good relationship with Kpcomponents. These brackets you bought have nothing to do with a lower kit, and clint would have, or should have, told you this. Dropping one of these trucks isn not a task that just anyone could take on, but its no big deal at the same time. Everyone takes a step back, just keep positive and ask as many questions as you can. This forum can help you more then you could ever imagine. I just welded the same brackets on my 9" with a Kp step notch on a 70. I dont mean to sound rude, an I hope I don't. I've spent way to much time on this site, but I've learned everything I know about these trucks right here
