My name is Chris.Im from Portage county Ohio.Im not a mechanic Im a carpenter,but I do wrench---- alot!!I got a 98 Jeep(Spanish pronunciation heep!)that keeps me wrenchin.I got a 93 chevy 4x4 I wrench on(only minor problems though) But the thing that makes me wrench the most is when I drive by and see someone letting an old chevy disentegrate in thier back yard!!And I promise you this -- When I become president or mayor or something Ill pass laws against such a thing.But until then all I can ask is that you just dont do that!And to the good people in this world who are undertaking the grand task of restoration of one of those beautiful works of art,I--I--I love you man!I really freakin love you!God bless you and carry on in honor and glory!And remember this-you dont do this for pride - your doing this for us(U.S.)!!

Thanks everyone.86swb thast cool about that 31 ford!Heirloom vehicles are the best!Thats kinda the story behind the hatchetman truck.My wifes father had two stepsides and a cst all cherry but he was taken suddenly.My son who now is 9 will inherit it someday.Guess for now Im just the caretaker/mechanic/DRIVER!!!!

My Grandfather bought the '31 new off of the showroom floor and he only had the car about three months and he had a stroke and the '31 sat in his garage for a some time. My Dad would go over and start it and drive it up and down the road now ant then. My Dad got the car about 20 some years later and he only drove it to shows and around town some. But always garage kept. Now I have it and she only has a little over 3,000 miles on it and still garage kept. Runs like a '31 should but when you drive the car you know your are driving a car. No power and it is a sequance you have to go through to get the car started. Turn fuel on, spark advance, choke, gas and then you push the starter with your right foot. But lots of fun to drive. I will have to take a picture soon and post it on here. Again, welcome.
