Need everyone's opinion

I have a 1987 suburban as a donor truck. I read the sticky about leaving the front crossmember in place and just taking the a-arms and spindles off, but looking at the front end that seems like more work than just unbolting both front crossmembers and swapping them out, both trucks have no motor in them and my 63's front clip is just sitting on the frame so room and clearence is no problem. what do you guys think?

A. remove just the parts needed from the burb (sticky )
B. swap out the hole sha-bang including power booster, and master cylinder
C.
D.

Re: Need everyone's opinion

I'd swap everything, I've done a few. It isn't really that difficult especially since you have no engine in either and the front sheetmetal is basically off your 63. One suggestion though...don't get rid of the burb until you're done installing everything on the 63. That way you can verify measurements if you need to.

Wink Re: Need everyone's opinion

I did the crossmember swap in my 66 and my 67 and the whole crossmember seems to be more heavyduty in the newer db crossmember. Also the newer one seemed a lot less crusty. I did mine with the engine in the truck though. I would highly suggest not trying it unless you have no choice!
