HELP WTf happened. (picture inside)

hello all. i need help figuring out what happened here. i started my truck today after my 454 swap and my steering box that hooks up to my ps pump busted open. i dont know what happened. im using the ps pump of the 1994 engine (my 454) that just bolted on

Time for a new box. Looks like the new pump found the weak spot of the system. The later 73+ boxes have a quicker ratio anyway.

I've seen them get some water in them then freeze and burst like that.

How does that work exactly? When does it vary? I have been thinking about upgrading mine to something better.

You have to check the hydraulic hose ends. There are two styles that are not compatible. So if you go to new (I think its 78 or 79) it won't work with the older pump and vise versa. BUT, you can replace both the pump and box from newer with no problem, just have the hoses also.
