Headlight switch question

Has anyone ever had a problem where you couldn't get the headlight lever rod thingy to catch when you try and put it back in teh headlight switch?? That's the only thing that's keeping me from going for a ride..

Will i need a new switch or is it fixable or something?

stingray72,

Sometimes they can be a pain in the butt. Did you try pushing in on the release button when you put it back in? Try a small amount of grease or vaseline on the end of the rod. (no smart remarks from the rest of you guys either)....

Re: Headlight switch question

the rod goes entirely into the switch, it just doesn't catch. I tried pressing the release button on the top, I just can't get it to catch..

(I got this exact same sentence in a SPAM email the other day.. what a coincidence)

Re: Headlight switch question

Try pulling up on the release button. The spring on the button could be weak and not allowing it to go all the way back to the top. It catches when the button is all the way out . Hope this helps.

I cleaned everything up last night and put wiring looms around the wires. I haven't hooked up the A/C or heat yet b/c it didn't work anyways and I've also got the interior lighting (door switches and dome light) to finish up.

I really would like to clean up the install under the dash for some reason even though you can't see it.. LOL

Last night, the headlight switch was the only thing keeping me from going for a ride though..
