I new the computer nerd skills would come in handy some day..

A few weeks ago I did some work on this guy's laptop. He happened to be the owner of a body shop. I'm all for swapping services in lieu of money, so I gave the guy an invoice with how much I would normally charge him, with the balance wiped out. Today he asked what he owes me, and I told him I needed work done to my Blazer and told him what all I needed. He wants me to cut out what I need cut out, bring all the replacement parts and he'd take care of the rest. He shoots....HE SCORES!!!!!!! Now I might have to give the guy a couple hundred bucks or so but that's FINE with me.

That is the way I work a lot of times. The local tire and lube guy needed to upgrade his computers and help with his Quickbooks. So I put in about 16 hours and got it all back in tire remounts, balancing, cheaper oil changes, etc. Great way to go. Got some free glasses for my wife the same way with our eye doctor.

I'm glad to hear that you found somebody in the area that is willing to do a little metal work. Almost every body shop that I talk to is all about slapping a large dose of bondo and a quick coat of paint. Maybe this guy will turn out to do good work. You can be the guinea pig for the rest of us.

I hope so...I've seen his work and they do a great job...but this is welding in new floors. If it comes out ok I'm sure he wouldn't mind you guys taking your trucks to him. We'll see.

Don't forget you still have to cut out the old stuff. I've never done it but i'm sure there's some trick to it. By the way i'm still waiting to here from you on when we are going to get your truck running good.

Yeah, that's true but it can't be too hard can it? I have an angle grinder and a boatload of cut off wheels. Well...when do you guys have some time? It looks like this weekend might work for me.
