Factory Air Pressure Gauge

Thanks to HYPERMAN, I have a factory Air Pressure Gauge to install. Does anybody know anything about them? The reason I ask is that there is a wad of fiber of some kind in the orifice that doesn't want to come out. Is it supposed to be there? I haven't tried really hard to remove in case it is actualy part of the mechanism.

One more question: does anybody happen to know what fitting--size/type--that connects to it. I don't want to have to carry the gauge to the hardware store if I can help it.

Thanks!

My '72 has a factory air pressure gauge in it. Not hooked up to anything though. I've been wondering.... what does it monitor?

The gauge was used in trucks that have air brakes. If it is in your half ton then someone had added it somewhere along the line. Some people like them to use with their airbag setups in their trucks.

If I remember correctly, it was an 1/8" npt connection into the back of the gauge.
