More Progress...I know you guys like pics!

Put the front end on jack stands, removed the tires/wheels and...ever so carefully slipped the shiney inner fenders into place and started tightening up bolts as fast as I could while holding the painted inner fender. Still need to secure the E brake cable and a few others....but had to snap a pic. Battery box had to come out the do this and of course has to go back in. The blue on the drivers side is a rag I had to prevent a scratch.

A small braided line from the radiator puke tube goes into the shorter tube on the bottom of the overflow canister. I believe vacuum sucks the fluid back and forth. There is also an additional tube on the bottom of the overflow can that allows it to drain should it fill up too much. Very simple mod. Got it off ebay.

That is one beautiful rig. However, I just can't relate. I've never even seen anything that nice in person, so it seems a little unreal. I often wonder if trucks like yours even sound like mine when the door closes, or is it nice and quiet like a new car?

Thank you...I'll try to explain. I had a new Prowler in 01', cool car but 6 cyl, custom by factory...got rid of it to build a super nice Chevy truck. Started with a K-10 shorty that was going to be "the truck" and bought this lil C-10 to be my daily driver while I restore the K-10. Things got out of hand and I fell in love with the C-10 and wanted to lower it and do everything I could to make it an awesome weekend/evening cruiser. That was almost 4 years ago. She is just about finished. Is it over the top...well sure it is. Will it ever haul dirt or haul anything...ahhh NO. But this is my hobby and I enjoy doing it. Money it's been a bunch....I always say..."I'll make more". Does the inside of my truck sound like yours??? Maybe. I've just got Dynamat Extreme everywhere you can put it and 900 watts of stereo that will be blastin' George Strait, Tody Keith, Alan Jackson, BADONK-KA-DONK and the like....probably sounds just like your truck...no?

Hmmmm, well, seems I need to educate myself on "Dynamat Extreme", but the music certainly sounds familiar.

Re: More Progress...I know you guys like pics!

DynaMat Extreme is premium sound deadoner. Sticky tar sheets with heavy foil backing that makes the cab not so tinny sounding. The whole cab in lined with DME also got it in the doors.... so the doors are a bit heavier and not as noisy. And then I installed S-10 door weather stripping to make a really tight fit ....and got rid of the wind wing, going to finish the one piece electric windows next. Just turn the sound up loud and all these trucks sound the same on the inside!

Re: More Progress...I know you guys like pics!

if possible i would go with the chrome one. although the hammered silver might be more "practicle". i might even try to paint the original one to match the red... decisions decisions decisions...

very nice truck in any decision!!!
