Question for the 4L60 guys??
Hey all,
I've found a 4L60 locally for cheap. I've currently got a TH350 installed in the truck that's roached, and have been wanting an overdrive anyway. I'm not sure if there's any wiring included, but let's just assume there isn't. What exactly would it take to install this transmission? I would assume someone makes a conversion kit for these trannies, any links? Also, are the pressures on these controlled via a kickdown cable, like the 700R4? Thanks for any info.

Re: Question for the 4L60 guys??
i thought 4L60 "E" trannies are electronically controlled, but I know there is some aftermarket companies that make a control box, like an ECU that is only for the tranny, so you can have a 4l60E on a carburated vehicle, I'll look around & see if I can find that info for ya.

Re: Question for the 4L60 guys??
Are you refering to a 4L60E? A 4L60 is a 700R4. I think 4L60E's do require a stand alone computer.

Re: Question for the 4L60 guys??
internally I believe they are the same, but if it's a 4L60 you need this.

Re: Question for the 4L60 guys??
If its a 4l60E, you will need an aftermarket computer for it from TCI http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...47891_-1_10733 If it is just a 4L60, you will only need Tourque Converter Clutch wiring, and depending on the tailshaft length of your tranny you may have to have your driveshaft shortened, i do know for a fact, that a 9 inch tailshaft th350, will swap to a 700r4 with no mods.

Re: Question for the 4L60 guys??
Hey Blue, no mods at all? Not even having to move the transmission crossmember? If so that is very cool
