Re: 77 stepside update

I like the dash pad. Did you take a stock pad and have it covered or is it aftermarket?

EDIT: I see you got some audio cable sittin there. Whats the plans for the sound system ?

Also, did you just install the deck over the dash bezel with the DIN sleeve? I more or less had to do that on mine because the previous owner had hacked up dash so bad, and the only way to take off the dash bezel would be to remove the head unit also.

I dont even what to know how mush of a head ache the front clip was with the bumper fussed in like that.

Also Did you get that dash leather covered, I see stiching.

Wish my chevelle was at that part of the build. When i get some film ill start a new thread and post some pictures.

Progress looks great...keep going and keep posting pics for us to see!

Has the green masking tape been helping, have you noticed yourself bumping painted parts together during reassembly..and has the tape done it's job in preventing chips and scratches?

for the dash, all i did was have the stoick one recovered in that anti-crack vinal (or so they claim) it cost me cnd $200 and was worth every penny!!!

also, for the sound system... in total its gonna have 2600 watts with 2 alpine 6x9's 2 alpine 6 1/2", 2 alpine 1" tweets, and for the thump, 2 10" kicker l7's. all powered by audison amps. ....its not as crazy as some i've seen, but it should be loud enough for me!! and yes i installed the deck that way, also because of the previous owner.

yes yes i've noticed lots of bumping painted parts together... the tape is definately helping, but im still finding myself putting nicks here and there. its sucks bigtime, but eh, im gonna drive it, so its gonna happen anyway.

Re: 77 stepside update

Very nice truck....

Can you please give some details on the front roll pan... is it metal and did you weld it in yourself? Who makes it and how was the fit/finish on it?

I am not hip on the wing or the orange instrument cluster... that is not to critisize either because it is your truck and you have done awesome on it!!!

I have a feeling it would grow on me too!!!

You should be really proud of this ride.

Regards,

Re: 77 stepside update

I love the stance on the truck along with the color. It you truck and it was your idea for the wing and it cool that you like it.

When i first saw the wing i went wtf then after a bit i wondered doess that create any down force. I know it not over the wheels but it would be cool if it did infact create down force then it would be more of a useable part and not like those honda with the wing higher then the car. (just my 2 cent and my thoughts)

All in all very nice truck

Man, I've been waiting for some progress pics, steemin. The front rollpan looks better every time I see it. Still my favorite truck on here.

Hey, what drop do you have?

Re: 77 stepside update

Shamil, i dont have the code handy, but if it helps, its ppg lamborghini orange. and Staceydude, i have a buildup of the front rollpan at this site:http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2461475/2 me and my dad built it together with some flat steel and rear box corners off of a 90's style chevy. and finally, killthewabbit, thank you again for the compliments!!! it means alot, especially with all the other (which i see as way better) rides on here. i got a 5" drop hangers and shackles in the back, as well as a flip kit/ c-notched frame. in the front right now its just cut coils, but is soon to be drop coils and spindles... hopefully i can get the same stance out of it. ...maybe i'll put in spindles and air. not sure yet. again, thanx for the compliments!
