Reproduction Sport Mirrors
Just wanted to get your opinions on the $40.00 a piece stainless reproduction sport mirrors.
I bought a set of the $20.00 a piece 7"x10" stainless tripods and I hate them. (I am going to see if I can send them back to LMC) The $40.00 stainless Grotes would probably be fine though, but I am thinking of just installing what came on the truck. "Sport Mirrors" I am just a little gun shy after my last mirror purchase... |

Re: Reproduction Sport Mirrors
I bought the original sport mirrors from Chevrolet about a month ago. I will get the part numbers for you if you want. PM me if interested. My cost was about $175 for both mirrors, mounting plates, and gaskets

Re: Reproduction Sport Mirrors
The sport style mirrors look real good, I had them on a 1972 GMC back in the 80's.
I put the stainless tripod type on the 71 C-10 I now own because it is used primarily for towing and working on the farm. The tripod mirrors seem to give me better visibility for this. Danny - SEMO |

Re: Reproduction Sport Mirrors
I have seen the OE Sports for sale before at about that same price. Just wondering if the cheaper repo sport mirrors are of decent quality. My truck is a money pit so I am trying to keep cost down where I can.

Re: Reproduction Sport Mirrors
I had repro sport mirrors on my K10. The pedestals (chrome plated pot metal parts) spider webbed and pitted in a short time. This was on a truck that was kept out of the weather. I ended up changing em out for GM pieces.

Re: Reproduction Sport Mirrors
I found a set of the repos @ $50.00 for the pair with hardware new. (usually $39.99 each) The only problem I have is that the pass side mirror won't adjust in far enough for it to be used properly.
![]() I am starting to see a pattern here with the aftermarket stuff. ![]() |
