I am trying to trouble shoot a problem with my rear brakes. I am looking for the thread on how to adjust the proportioning vavle.

there is no adjustment on the combination valve

There is a button under the black cap on one end of your prop valve. Use a clamp to depress & hold. Slowly push brake pedal to the floor or as close as you can get the pedal to the floor pushing firmly onthe pedal, and release. Remove clamp from prop. valve. It should be centered again.
GM sold a special tool for depressing the button. I just use a squeeze clamp.

71Chev, Thank You. . . I was about to go spend 80 bucks for a replacement. I had checked my brakes top to bottom but couldn't get the light to clear. I looked in the Haynes manual -Pffffffff, what a waste! I tried your trick with a 6" C-Clamp. IT WORKED. Thank You, Thank You!
