'71 Survivor Longhorn
I spotted this truck today in Carson Hot Springs East of Portland, OR. The new owner is just starting the restoration. I told him about the site and all the great help he will get here. This truck had some nice options like the tool box (with pretty much rust free door) and factory sliding rear window. It was very clean and amazingly straight and rust free.

Re: '71 Survivor Longhorn
Nice.I can`t recall seeing an ochre one and that color was common. It`s not all original with the mirrors stripped.Did you tell him you`d trade a rear that spins for that worthless No Spin? What good is a rear that won`t spin?

Re: '71 Survivor Longhorn
SpecialK, You are right about the mirrors...he pulled them since they easily dent the doors if they get brushed. He indicated that he was thinking about keeping it as stock as possible. He switched out the wheels and added the hubs and beauty rings...looks good I think.

Re: '71 Survivor Longhorn
Correct. I had one mirror and it was causing damage to the door. I will most definetly replace them with something a little more practical. Just getting started with this, very new to restoration. It's a fun project so far, was pleased to find the original motor still intact and running.

James, Glad to see you on the board! Great truck and a great start. I love that ochre color. There is a '72 ochre suburban up here for sale that keeps calling my name...LOL!

Re: '71 Survivor Longhorn
Hey,Welcome!!Real nice survivor.I couldn`t see the mounting holes in the picture. They can cause problems, for sure.I like the newer rims. But some slots or OEM-center wider wheel would set it off enormously,IMO.
