Pics of my 1981 C10

It is a little on the rough side, but that makes it fun.

Re: Pics of my 1981 C10

what size tires and wheels are you running on it?

Looks like 7 or 8 inch rallys for wheels but I love how wide the tires look/are so I wondered what size they are.

It is quite stout for a small cube engine, it impresses me everytime i drive it. I am not a big block, built small block guy or a carb guy so I couldnt compare it to any of those. It does however stay right with stock supercharged lightnings, and has stay out on one or two.

The wheels are 8" ralleye's with 295/50/15 Hankook H101's. I am looking for a set of the Silverado SS 20" wheels for it, before it needs new tires.

Re: Pics of my 1981 C10

Have any issues with them on the 8's?

Like abnormal wear or ride or anything?

Everybody and their brother tells me you can't run tires that wide on an 8 inch or 7 inch wide rim. They all say it's unsafe or some crap or would cause bad ride or uneven were like the middle wear out faster then normal or have 1/2 the life of normal size.

I think it's BS myself.

Re: Pics of my 1981 C10

the middle wears faster on the rears of course. It balloons the tire up when it spins hard. It rides good to me, you have to remember it is for the most part almost a 30 year old truck....Do what you like, I havent had any issues with mine. I know it is gonna wear the centers out fast on the back, even a stock size tire will if you like to spin them

DAMN that's really good. My dads 2002 regular cab short bed with a 5.3 and 3.73 gears gets about 17/20-ish. These older trucks must be a lot lighter.

Depending on options roughly 73-87 SWB = 3700lbs vs 99-up SWB = 4000lbs

Re: Pics of my 1981 C10

Nice truck and sweet engine/trans combo!!

Are the SS wheels a 5 bolt setup, or are they 6 (and what is their bolt pattern)? I never knew they would "bolt up" to our trucks....or do you have something in mind?

all 99-up 1/2T Silverados are 6 lugs so they won't bolt up.

The scale that the rims were sized looks a little off. Like they are closer to 17/18s instead of 20's.

Here are 17" impala SS' on mine close to the same angle.
