Dually 67
Has anyone put a dually rear setup under a 1967-72 wide bed. Or seen one. I like to ad dual rear wheels,because of towing a 5th wheel trailer. But rather not have to add the wider fenders. Someone said they seen one, but the inside bed fenders were wider. Thats ok ! I was thinking maybe there was a narrow dually rear that would work, or get one narrowed. Maybe use a
3/4- 1 ton single axle and put dually wheels on it. Any ideas Thanks !!! |

Without adding fenders you will have to narrow the rearend to make it work
under a stock fleet bed and that alone will involve tubbing out the inners

a daul rear wheel axle, from a 67 - 72, can be installed with no big fenders. A little trimming and some small flairs like on an 80's dodge would be needed though. You'll have to increase the width of the tubs in the bed though, but this can be done easily.
However, this will not do a whole lot for stability. It'll help with load capacity, but IMO, with a 5th wheel, the wide stance is a VERY nice feature. |

Exactly, although, i wouldn't use a coil rear... I'd use real one ton stuff. No need to have the rear end relocate to the side every time you load up with a 5th wheel.
